Stretchable Materials

The non-conductive materials consist of soft thermoplastic polyurethane (PU) substrate with a matching PU encapsulation layer. These PU films are ultrathin, highly elastic, and mechanically robust under repeated 10–20% abdominal strain, allowing the patch to stretch, twist, and fold with natural body motion without delaminating or wrinkling. A medical-grade, PU-compatible bio-adhesive on the skin-facing side provides gentle but secure attachment across different skin types and hydration levels, supporting day-long wear with minimal irritation. Together, this PU substrate–encapsulant–adhesive system forms a breathable, sponge-like mechanical scaffold that protects the conductive network while preserving the extreme stretchability required for active daily use.
